Covenant Invasion of Earth: Head
During the weeks before the destruction of the Power Core, Tom began to take advance with the original infiltration plan that the Protectors had when they came back in time. This included faking deaths and age altering. However, following the final week the majority of infiltration agents were captured and killed.
Darren was one of the lucky ones. Kinda.
He survived the Zoombians attempts to destroy the Infiltrators, along with a few other; however they all managed to have their age reverted while Darren arrived too late, instead witnessing the destruction of the house, as well as watching helpless as his adopted family burnt within its walls.

Back in the present, Darren (in the position he had managed to gain himself after he quit his infiltration position), turned to see that his brother was sat in the chair on the other side of his desk.
"What's going on out there? All I can hear is the screams," he asked calmly after sitting down on his seat.
"Hell. Hell is going on out there," Tom stated. "The world has gone to hell."
"The Vintos are dead. So are the Cydonians. And the Zoombians are in complete disarray," Darren asked, confused at what could be attacking the Earth now.
"Apparently slaying one demon unleashes another," Tom stated cryptically. "We can stop them in small groups. We can stop them using our surroundings. But this IS an invasion, and we can't stop it."
"Then let the humans grow up and protect themselves," Darren snarled. "We lost everything saving them and now what? I'm a headteacher of a failing school and you lot do what with your time? Drone through the school day, mourn what we have lost, and after what we did; after what we sacrificed, we still don't get any shred of recognition or thanks."
"That was the deal!" Tom yelled. "In the future, everyone knew us, here no one did. That meant that we were free to do what we wanted! It meant we were safe..."
"The house begs to differ," Darren mocked when someone knocked on the door. "Come in," he sighed.
"Something's happening! Look out the window!" the receptionist yelled in horror.
Tom and Darren both scurried for the window and stared out as a meteorite flew across the sky, leaving a trail that disappeared into a swirling white portal.
"That's heading for the house!" Tom yelled before a mini explosion echoed across the area.
"Um...I think we should go and look at that," Darren stated in amazement.
"I think you're right," Tom agreed, his eyes locked on the ruins of the house.
