Book Updates for the main series

A Past to Remember

This has had a massive retooling recently, with the main restructuring done around the overarching plot, with the central plot now revolving around the robots rather than switching to the Vinto and other Universes around halfway through. Because of this, the main characters of the book have also been retooled to:
  • Thomas "Tom" Cane / Derek Davis / Timothy "Tim" Ritchie / Thomas "Tom" Gerald
  • Emily Rose
  • Jacob "Jack" Penguin
  • Emma Jackson
  • Cameron Jakes
  • Connor Potato
  • Erin Potato
  • Oliver "Ollie" Cane
  • Dudley
Leanne, Josie and Ed have been demoted to recurring in order to focus the plot, Bobby has been dropped because he is simply an AI. Vicky's, Darren's, and Fred's role have been substantially shrunk between versions while Ralph and Lisa have just been written out completely along with a number of minor characters who aren't even involved in any of the central plot threads any more.

And further cuts may be made later on with Erin and Ollie becoming smaller and smaller within the grand scheme of things. On the other hand, Dudley is a lot more involved with the plot, and as such has been promoted to main character status and is also joined with the introduction of his own pair of recurring characters in Ramona and Misty, two Zoombians who work with him to replicate the protectors abilities.

Of these, Tom, Jack and Emma are main characters in "Ashes", while Dudley is a main character in "The Unfortunates" along with Darren and a character who is Jack's brother called Joe Tim Morgan.

Official Synopsis 2.0

Having crash landed in the year 3000, Tom and his three man team much find a way to not only return to their own time, but also rescue those who have been abducted by their own creations. This all without having any idea as to why they crashed in the first place, nor why the time machine won't start.

Strike the Heart

Still the same, just written better, this time with a much more structured set of goals and restraints whereby the prequel aspects can shine in offering the necessary backstory. Your main cast this time around consists of:
  • Thomas "Tom" Cane
  • Jacob "Jack" Penguin
  • Emily Rose
  • Elizabeth "Lizzy" Grey
  • Geoff
  • Jackie
  • Matt
Of this lot, only Lizzy goes on to appear in another of the announced books. In this case appearing in "A Past to Remember". As previously stated, Dudley makes a guest appearance here, and strangely so does Emma in a recurring manner.

Official Synopsis 2.0

Mistrust plagues the protectors of 2980, with main of the organisation turning on one another within the year. However, the leaders of the group, Geoff and Jackie, encounter the first group of insurrectionist in the form of their son Tom and daughter Lizzy, who grant them a deadline of December of the same year before they take control and leave the organisation in ruin.

Ashes

Okay, I'll admit, I've done nothing here. Like seriously nothing, I can barely even remember what happens...as it stands the main characters that I'm sure about are:
  • Thomas "Tom" Cane
  • Jacob "Jack" Penguin
  • Naomi
  • Emma Jackson
Although Dudley will drop in for recurring appearances throughout, seeing as the main enemy of the protectors – other than each other – is the Zoombians.

The Unfortunates

Set immediately before "A Past to Remember", this actually tells the story that Tom and Jack forgot in the initial parts of "A Past to Remember" and is meant as an explainer to what happened in more detail. The main characters who you'll acompany are:
  • Thomas "Tom" Cane
  • Jacob "Jack" Penguin
  • Dudley
  • Joe Tim Morgan
  • Darren Jenkins
Hey look, Darren's still a main character somewhere! Anyways, the story basically explains Tom's journey to find a herb to heal two comatose protectors in the present before all hell breaks loose. Can't really say anymore because spoilers...

General Notes

Just to put this here, the other series on here may be pulled down and redone at somepoint, or just scrapped entirely. For example, the "Covenant Invasion of Earth" crossover with "A Past to Remember" is no longer a thing as it pulls characters from events where they don't actually exist. A few will remain, such as:
  • Family Reunion;
  • The NCIS rewrite;
  • Numbers – which will continue...eventually, especially now that the main saga stuff has moved away from it.
And until rewritten, these will remain up:
  • Power Core – I'll keep the plot the same in earlier chapters so that season 4 can continue while the rewrite is happening...;
  • Camp Terror and its associated areas;
  • Covenant Invasion of Earth.
Everything else will either be rewritten or scraped entirely, although notices will go up for both of these.

Falsely Accused: Seperation

A week after the terror attack, Tom and the others had decided upon their various course of actions, with Tom disengaging any and all protector protocols, essentially disbanding the entire team in one move. However, those who remained knowledgeable about the team weren’t all too keen to following the same plan, and some just didn’t want to remember anymore. Erin was one of these people, having come to Tom immediately after the attack to ask him to wipe her memories, although he sent her away initially, telling her to calm down and think about it.

Falsely Accused – Encounter

Author’s Note: Just so that people aren’t too confused, the following chapter is written in first person from the perspective of Lizzy.

It’s been a year since Tom cleared the campsite of terrorists and recruited me onto his team to track down all of the resurrected protectors in order to work out how they had come back from the dead. We’d made a little progress in that department, but not nearly as much as we’d have liked. However, our investigation was thrust onto the back burner when Jack came to us saying that he’d found a data cache in the year 3067 which gave him Jackie’s movements in the past, including her currently location.

Camp Terror – Trust

In the aftermath of the terror attack, the protectors decided that it was time to leave their past behind them and move on with their lives, especially since the threat of an alien invasion had been eliminated, for at least ten years. Well, all but a few select protectors who started up various investigations into thoughts that continued to nag at them. Connor receded from his family into the shadows as he attempted to work out who orchestrated the attack, focusing on the one fact that Carl had left him with, a girl with white hair and the ability to control people. Thus his investigation turned to Emma, the person responsible for Matt’s death a year before.

Tom and Connie likewise found the sudden control of thousands of people to be too hard to ignore, although their investigation hinged on Jackie potentially still being alive as well as having something to do with Claire’s and Gemma’s resurrection. This led them to a number of protectors who they were either were told had died, or whom they had personally killed. While investigating this, Tom attempted to locate his brother who’d mysteriously disappeared during the extraction of the civilians.

Emma started working with NCIS in an attempt to find the people who arranged the whole ordeal after a slot on the team was unexpectedly vacated when DiNozzo was shot and killed after destroying the tank in Teginmouth, however her investigation was moving along extremely slowly as the lack of physical evidence made it increasingly hard to track.

Jack took a drastically different approach to the others, instead of focusing on the present and who was alive there, he focused on the past in an attempt to try and locate any potential candidates from the protectors’ own past who may have survived their supposed death, which led him to mixed results including finding a protector who had killed her love rival whom just so happened to be able to control peoples’ minds before she just disappeared after  suddenly just vanishing, with no one seeing her again.

Lets finally sort these dates out!

Camp Terror will finish tomorrow, aka the second of March, with the first chapter of Falsely Accused going up on Friday fourth. Seven Murders will go up on the 31st of March, of that I will defiantly not fail this time, especially since it is in the middle of the easer holidays.

I am also working on something that is working under the preliminary title of "Kirk Balk Bluff" which may or not be published here, I may just keep that as a random thing that I wrote through an idea that doesn't necessarily need to be a story anywhere. Plus it uses themes from Falsely Accused, Hunted and Death Linked, which could potentially spoil all three of those series, so if I do upload it, it will be after I've done them.

Camp Terror – Wipeout

Erin didn’t care about any stupid laws or rules that attempted to regulate her powers, she didn’t care how many people she would have to kill, all she cared about was that she had to rescue her brother. This thinking radiated out from within her, unnerving Connie, who reluctantly followed her into the house

Seven Murders and Falsely Accused delayed to March

Due to University I've not put in any work in either of these so I am sadly pushing them into next month

Camp Terror – Overkill

Having spent the time that Tom was organising the civilians surveying the house, Erin and Connie had take two of the terrorists out and used Connie’s ability to absorb memories to extract Connor’s location, despite the damage it caused to the brains of the individuals.

Camp Terror Update + Seven Murders Official Synopsis + Other works!

So while on the train back up to Sheffield, I decided to do Camp Terror related stuff and quickly came to the realisation that the actual plot of Camp Terror itself is coming to an end, with the populace of the campsite being liberated from the terrorists who surrounded them. However, there were ideas that materialised themselves for after the series concluded, these idea included the people behind the attack and their reasons for carrying out said attack.

Camp Terror will end soon, with its 19th chapter entitled “Trust”, with a follow up series starting in February, which is currently working under the title of “Falsely Accused”. This will be followed up upon its completion by the series “Justice”. Depending on how the plot of “Falsely Accused” ends up unfolding, a prequel series will either begin being uploaded partway through “Falsely Accused” or alongside “Justice” as it features plot threads which will lose their effectiveness if revealed too early. This prequel series will be entitled “The Impossible Choice”.

The next chapter of Camp Terror, “Overkill”, will go up either today or tomorrow.

Moving on to other series, "Family Reunion" should finish up in February, while the sequel series to "Six Alien Ships", entitled "Seven Murders", will debut on February 29. "NCIS" and "Power Core" are both planned but I need to be in the mood to write each series before I can actually sit down and continue them, but don't work, they're still coming. "Hunted" requires a bit more planning and building before I can continue with it, otherwise it will end up going all over the place.

"Covenant Invasion of Earth" is in a tricky position where I've kinda decided on where I want it to go but at the same time don't want it to go in that direction... So basically I'm going to do the third sub-series entitled "Aftermath", however, after that I will probably stop working on it. "Time Trap" is in a similar boat to "Hunted" in terms of planning while I just have no idea what to do with "Fast Track". However, I have a storyline planned for Universe 02 which should lead into "Fast Track" and allow me to get some new ideas. The Universe 02 story is currently working under to name of "Universal Destruction". Universes 28 and 33 also have stories in the work for them, entitled "Death Linked" and "Empty" respectively. They will likely be one of series, although at the very least I'm hoping to get "Empty" out this year.

Onto “Seven Murders” information: The first chapter is entitled “Dust” while the final chapter is titled as “Cut Lose”, with there being another 11 chapters between them, bringing the grand total to 13, because of this the chapters may also spill over into March 1st as well, just to ensure they all get out.

The main characters for this round are:
  • Thomas “Tom” Cane;
  • Emma Cane;
  • Angelica “Angee” Gibbs;
  • Felix McKyle;
  • Faye;
  • Lisa;
  • Connie Blake.

Official Synopsis: -

Having been ordered to run by Tom after committing her string of murders against naval officers and duplicated his powers by transfusing some of Ollie’s blood into herself, Faye begins to slip further into insanity, beginning her spree of seven murders that ends with a dead protector and old friends chasing her down. Meanwhile Emma and Lisa attempt to break out of the time loop that they found themselves trapped within.

Camp Terror: Transport

After being rescued by Tom from the café, Gemma and Claire resorted to following his orders in order to prevent their cover from being blown. As the walked the hostages towards the NCIS checkpoint, the pair used their force field generating ability to prevent the terrorists from reaching them. As they walked through a strangely quiet area, Gemma turned to Ollie and asked, “So how come you have Tom’s powers?’
            ‘A few years ago we were in an accident…it was bad, very bad,’ Ollie explained sadly. ‘I’d lost a lot of blood, and Tom was a match for me, but because the accident involved around seven other people, who all also lost a lot of blood. We all had the same blood type, and I was the last one to be brought in, something to do with another car accident on the road that the ambulance was going to take. So they just flat out took some of Tom’s blood and started to pump it into my body in order to stabilise me.’
            ‘Is that it?’ Claire asked when he fell silent.
            ‘Yeah, the doctors were amazed by the wound suddenly healing itself in light of the newly added blood, but they had no idea what they had just unleashed into me,’ Ollie sighed. ‘Tom was unconscious at the time so all it took was the go ahead from our parents. I’m fairly certain on the choice he would have made, but I’ve never asked.’
            ‘I know which choice he would have made, the choice he would have made for anybody, but he won’t again,’ Gemma noted. ‘Not now that he know what it does.’
            ‘We’re approaching the end of what I know,’ Ollie pointed out. ‘I’ll go and do a little more recon, find out how much further we have to go.’

Once Ollie was gone, Gemma pulled her phone out of her pocket and put it to her ear. ‘You get all of that?’

Family Reunion: Reunite

Tom's family was a weird mix of humans and protectors, with a statistically improbable amount of them being protectors despite only around seventy of them being in the past. Using his entire family being in one location, including the other protectors, Tom arranged for Naomi and Emma to be introduced to them in the hopes of drawing Jackie out.

Six Alien Ships and Done!

Well not as close as the last few times, but that is only because I decided to remove two of the chapters. “Odd One Out” may find itself being uploaded at some point, but probably not. SO the six chapters are done and sorted, and the other two weren’t really important to the overarcing story or the story of the immediate chapter. Like at all.

“Newborns” explains itself, “Loop” adds to the next series, “Shadow” is important to both Tom and Connie’s characters, “Death in Law” and “Jokes on You” are clear for all to see and “First Timers” lends itself to somewhere so far down the line that I think it is likely fifteen or sixteen when we finally see the repercussions of the ship falling instead of being destroyed. “Odd One Out” would have been just a repeat of the others and “Oh Brother of Death” was worked into “First Timers” with Josh revealing Naomi’s kidnapping as opposed to Tom finding out via her tracker.

Obviously after reworking it, I have removed Ollie and Angee from Main character status in this series as they didn’t appear in an important aspect.

Seven will go up in January 2016, probably late. I’ll give a proper date when I post the Official Synopsis.

Six Alien Ships: Jokes on You...

Since Naomi remained alive, her tracker continued to work allowing Tom to pinpoint her location. The same abandoned warehouse where Angee was almost mind-raped by Jamie…

Six Alien Ships: Intermission

Right, okay, so one more chapter now. Yes I said 8, but as I was typing “First Timers”, I realised that “Oh Brother of Death” wasn’t needed, and the sixth chapter “Odd One Out”, wasn’t exactly needed for the overarcing story. If I get time later on I may write it up and publish it, but overall it is simply just Ollie and Angee destroying their own Vinto ship.

Six Alien Ships: First Timers

Having survived the explosion of his ship, Tom managed to convince the Vinto on the ship that he had newly arrived on that he was one of them, after subtly knocking Marcus out so that he couldn’t reveal the truth. As they were marching through the enemy ship, Tom noticed that a couple of the Vinto trailed off with Amanda’s and Marcus’ unconscious bodies, presumably taking them to a more appropriate medical facility.
