Saga of Thomas Cane

A Past to Remember This has had a massive retooling recently, with the main restructuring done around the overarching plot, with the central plot now revolving around the robots rather than switching to the Vinto and other Universes around halfway through. Because of this, the main characters of the book have also been retooled to: Thomas "Tom" Cane / Derek Davis / Timothy "Tim" Ritchie / Thomas "Tom" Gerald Emily Rose Jacob "Jack" Penguin Emma Jackson Cameron Jakes Connor Potato Erin Potato Oliver "Ollie" Cane Dudley Leanne, Josie and Ed have been demoted to recurring in order to focus the plot, Bobby has been dropped because he is simply an AI. Vicky's, Darren's, and Fred's role have been substantially shrunk between versions while Ralph and Lisa have just been written out completely along with a number of minor characters who aren't even involved in any of the central plot threads any more. A week after the terror attack, Tom and the others had decided upon their various course of actions, with Tom disengaging any and all protector protocols, essentially disbanding the entire team in one move. However, those who remained knowledgeable about the team weren’t all too keen to following the same plan, and some just didn’t want to remember anymore. Erin was one of these people, having come to Tom immediately after the attack to ask him to wipe her memories, although he sent her away initially, telling her to calm down and think about it.

Author’s Note: Just so that people aren’t too confused, the following chapter is written in first person from the perspective of Lizzy. It’s been a year since Tom cleared the campsite of terrorists and recruited me onto his team to track down all of the resurrected protectors in order to work out how they had come back from the dead. We’d made a little progress in that department, but not nearly as much as we’d have liked. However, our investigation was thrust onto the back burner when Jack came to us saying that he’d found a data cache in the year 3067 which gave him Jackie’s movements in the past, including her currently location.

In the aftermath of the terror attack, the protectors decided that it was time to leave their past behind them and move on with their lives, especially since the threat of an alien invasion had been eliminated, for at least ten years. Well, all but a few select protectors who started up various investigations into thoughts that continued to nag at them. Connor receded from his family into the shadows as he attempted to work out who orchestrated the attack, focusing on the one fact that Carl had left him with, a girl with white hair and the ability to control people. Thus his investigation turned to Emma, the person responsible for Matt’s death a year before. Tom and Connie likewise found the sudden control of thousands of people to be too hard to ignore, although their investigation hinged on Jackie potentially still being alive as well as having something to do with Claire’s and Gemma’s resurrection. Camp Terror will finish tomorrow, aka the second of March, with the first chapter of Falsely Accused going up on Friday fourth. Seven Murders will go up on the 31st of March, of that I will defiantly not fail this time, especially since it is in the middle of the easer holidays. I am also working on something that is working under the preliminary title of "Kirk Balk Bluff" which may or not be published here, I may just keep that as a random thing that I wrote through an idea that doesn't necessarily need to be a story anywhere. Plus it uses themes from Falsely Accused, Hunted and Death Linked, which could potentially spoil all three of those series, so if I do upload it, it will be after I've done them.

Erin didn’t care about any stupid laws or rules that attempted to regulate her powers, she didn’t care how many people she would have to kill, all she cared about was that she had to rescue her brother. This thinking radiated out from within her, unnerving Connie, who reluctantly followed her into the house

Having spent the time that Tom was organising the civilians surveying the house, Erin and Connie had take two of the terrorists out and used Connie’s ability to absorb memories to extract Connor’s location, despite the damage it caused to the brains of the individuals.

So while on the train back up to Sheffield, I decided to do Camp Terror related stuff and quickly came to the realisation that the actual plot of Camp Terror itself is coming to an end, with the populace of the campsite being liberated from the terrorists who surrounded them. However, there were ideas that materialised themselves for after the series concluded, these idea included the people behind the attack and their reasons for carrying out said attack. Camp Terror will end soon, with its 19 th chapter entitled “Trust”, with a follow up series starting in February, which is currently working under the title of “Falsely Accused”. This will be followed up upon its completion by the series “Justice”. Depending on how the plot of “Falsely Accused” ends up unfolding, a prequel series will either begin being uploaded partway through “Falsely Accused” or alongside “Justice” as it features plot threads which will lose their effectiveness if revealed too early. After being rescued by Tom from the café, Gemma and Claire resorted to following his orders in order to prevent their cover from being blown. As the walked the hostages towards the NCIS checkpoint, the pair used their force field generating ability to prevent the terrorists from reaching them. As they walked through a strangely quiet area, Gemma turned to Ollie and asked, “So how come you have Tom’s powers?’             ‘A few years ago we were in an accident…it was bad, very bad,’ Ollie explained sadly. ‘I’d lost a lot of blood, and Tom was a match for me, but because the accident involved around seven other people, who all also lost a lot of blood. We all had the same blood type, and I was the last one to be brought in, something to do with another car accident on the road that the ambulance was going to take. So they just flat out took some of Tom’s blood and started to pump it into my body in order to stabilise me.’  ...

Tom's family was a weird mix of humans and protectors, with a statistically improbable amount of them being protectors despite only around seventy of them being in the past. Using his entire family being in one location, including the other protectors, Tom arranged for Naomi and Emma to be introduced to them in the hopes of drawing Jackie out.

Well not as close as the last few times, but that is only because I decided to remove two of the chapters. “Odd One Out” may find itself being uploaded at some point, but probably not. SO the six chapters are done and sorted, and the other two weren’t really important to the overarcing story or the story of the immediate chapter. Like at all. “Newborns” explains itself, “Loop” adds to the next series, “Shadow” is important to both Tom and Connie’s characters, “Death in Law” and “Jokes on You” are clear for all to see and “First Timers” lends itself to somewhere so far down the line that I think it is likely fifteen or sixteen when we finally see the repercussions of the ship falling instead of being destroyed. “Odd One Out” would have been just a repeat of the others and “Oh Brother of Death” was worked into “First Timers” with Josh revealing Naomi’s kidnapping as opposed to Tom finding out via her tracker. Obviously after reworking it, I have removed Ollie and Angee from Main...

Since Naomi remained alive, her tracker continued to work allowing Tom to pinpoint her location. The same abandoned warehouse where Angee was almost mind-raped by Jamie…

Right, okay, so one more chapter now. Yes I said 8, but as I was typing “First Timers”, I realised that “Oh Brother of Death” wasn’t needed, and the sixth chapter “Odd One Out”, wasn’t exactly needed for the overarcing story. If I get time later on I may write it up and publish it, but overall it is simply just Ollie and Angee destroying their own Vinto ship.

Having survived the explosion of his ship, Tom managed to convince the Vinto on the ship that he had newly arrived on that he was one of them, after subtly knocking Marcus out so that he couldn’t reveal the truth. As they were marching through the enemy ship, Tom noticed that a couple of the Vinto trailed off with Amanda’s and Marcus’ unconscious bodies, presumably taking them to a more appropriate medical facility.

High above Moscow, a Vinto ship hung unable to reconstruct their cloaking systems in order to hide themselves from prying eyes below. Unfortunately for them, Naomi had already seen them and located the means of getting on board, even if said means weren’t the easiest of things to acquire.

Tom had tasked himself with taking down the Vinto ship that hovered invisibly above London. As he tore through the ship however he began to notice that he was never attacked from behind, and only ever from the front. However, he chose to ignore this fact and focus on getting to the engine room in order to destroy the ship.

Having broke into one of the Vinto ships and successfully made it to the engine room without being spotted, Emma moved onto destroying the engine of the ship by aging various important looking sections to dust. However, what she did not expect was to encounter another like her, and she definitely did not expect them to be Vinto.

Following a lengthy fight between an advanced squad of Vinto and Angee Gibbs, Marcus was eventually able to subdue her, which subsequently allowed him to extract a couple pints of blood from the girl before her reinforcements arrived and forced him to retreat. However, he had already gained everything he required to bring the Vinto up to par with the strangely advanced Protectors. Unfortunately, this gamble also revealed the Vinto presence on Earth much earlier than they would have liked.

As the Vinto-Kolso begin to arrive on Earth, the Protectors take it upon themselves to bring five of the bigger ships down to the ground, omitting the command ship in the hopes of negotiating a surrender. Splitting into five teams, they board the ships covertly and attempt to find their way to the heart of the ship using their unique skills. The first chapter of this series is titled “Newborns” while the eighth and final chapter is named “Jokes on You”.
