Six Alien Ships: Jokes on You...
Since Naomi remained alive, her tracker continued
to work allowing Tom to pinpoint her location. The same abandoned warehouse
where Angee was almost mind-raped by Jamie…
Approaching from the front, Tom immediately supersped
through the door in order to avoid the anvil that Jamie had planted to fall on
his head when the door opened. Once in he lent backwards in order to avoid the
curved blade that threatened to take his head clean off. Spinning around onto
his back as he slid, he ended up using his hands to jump over a curved wood
cutting blade that seemed to have been pulled straight off a wood processing
plant.
‘Jesus,’
Tom exclaimed as a hammer came crashing down upon his foot when he finally came
to a stop. ‘Come on Jamie! Fight me brother to brother, or are you too chicken!’
‘That
was just the opening act,’ Jamie chuckled from the corner. ‘It was just a bonus
that any of it actually managed to hit you.’
Before Tom could respond, Jamie kicked him in the
face, sending him flying backwards. Tom struggled to his feet and managed to
catch a glimpse of Naomi behind Jamie. Coming up with a terribly poor plan, Tom
formed a ball of temporal energy and launched it at Naomi’s wrists, although he
made it appear that he was firing it at Jamie. Jamie, not realising Tom’s true
plan, silently side stepped the ball of energy and ran at Tom, his fists
simultaneously striking both Tom’s face and stomach at the same time, causing
him to go flying backwards into the wall.
‘That
all you got,’ Tom managed while struggling to stand. Falling for the taunt,
Jamie sped across the room and smashed Tom’s head into the wall. ‘My turn,’ Tom
smiled as he used Penny’s mimicry power to punch Jamie in both the face and stomach
before rushing across the room and punching his head into the wall.
While Jamie was distracted recovering from the
sudden and unexpected attack, Tom sent a barrage of mental attacks at Jamie to
delay him long enough form him to destroy all of the lights and thus purge the
room into pure darkness. Undercover of darkness, Tom quickly used Myles’
Echolcation ability to map out the entire room and figure out where each of
Jamie’s traps were lurking. Surprisingly, Jamie seemed to managed to evade Tom’s
echo-mapping.
Suddenly, Jamie’s fist connected with Tom’s
stomach and sent him flying backwards and into another wall. Bracing himself,
Tom took Jamie’s follow up punch to the head, grabbed the small nanoscopic
tracker out of his pocket and pushed Jamie backwards, attaching the tracker to
him in the process. Jamie stumbled backwards for a step, managing to stop
himself shortly before one of his circular saw traps.
Tom, realising where Jamie was and where the trap
was, moved forwards despite his broken foot which he was slowly beginning to
feel. Once he was a top Jamie, he forced him downwards and slammed Jamie’s leg
down on the trap. Unfortunately for Tom, Jamie react and fired a power beam of death
energy that caused Tom to go flying out of the warehouse and into a supermarket
across the street. Jamie meanwhile looked down at his leg while weeping.
Realising how beyond help it was, he chose to finish the amputation job. He
then slowly crawled towards his flamethrower trap and aimed it at his leg
before activating it in order to cauterise it.
Tom was quickly surrounded by various customers
and staff who immediately phoned an ambulance while Angee quickly rushed
through the door, having realised what Tom was planning too late to interfere.
‘He’s
got a tracker on him now Ang,’ Tom smiled. ‘We won’t lose him again.’
‘Yeah,
but are we going to lose you?’ Angee asked. ‘I saw that black beam. I know what
that was.’
‘I
was able to factor most of the energy off to one of my other identities. I’ll
be fine,’ Tom explained. ‘Have you seen Naomi? Her chains were removed partway
through the fight.’
‘No,
not yet,’ Angee admitted. ‘We’ll find her once we get you in an ambulance and
on the way to the hospital.’
Having escaped midway through the brutal fight
since she was too weak to aid in the fight. Naomi managed to make it out of the
warehouse and into an area where she could create a portal that would take her
to a hospital.
Leila was shocked by the sudden white portal, but
less so by the white haired girl who slumped through. ‘Naomi,’ she called as
she helped her up. ‘Simon! Help me!’ she called through to her partner in the
other room.
‘What?’
he questioned, turning through the door to see the bloodied and bruised girl. ‘What
happened?’
‘I
don’t know,’ she admitted. ‘Help me get her inside so that the doctors can look
at her.’
‘Okay,’
he agreed, rushing back out to the ambulance garage to get a stretcher to place
her on.
Whilst he was grabbing the stretcher, Leila
watched as Naomi’s head began to alternate between white and red. Shrugging it
off as an unurgent matter, she ensured that Naomi wasn’t bleeding anywhere
externally before moving onto a more thorough examination that ensured that she
wasn’t bleeding inside. To her relief, there was no internal bleeding, but she
did find that her right leg was broken, her left arm, right elbow, around ten
ribs and her left index finger were all broken, and her right index finger just
wasn’t there. Once her partner returned, they rushed inside for further
examinations and surgery in order to start her on the path to recoverary.
