Surprise

Tom was staring at the body of his dead sister-in-law, his mind slowly going through every possible scenario in which she isn't dead; in his, mind he saw multiple spacecraft fly overhead and without thinking he jumped up into the air, did a back flip and smashed through the glass windshield before making the pilot turn to dust.

He jumped off the ship and onto the next and while he dealt with the second ship the first flew out of control and crashed into the third. Without killing the pilot, he used his knife to see what species the pilot was of. He expected to see fur, reptilian skin or for it to just bleed...Instead he found something he had never see before.

"You're a flaming bird?" Tom snapped, shocked that there were feathers all over the creature's body.

The creature looked at Tom, smirked, pulled a lever on the ship and then bit down hard on his tongue causing his mouth to begin foaming as the poison spread through his body. Tom turned the ship around and waited until he was above the campsite before jumping after which the ship exploded. Tom landed Connor who looked at him with a quizzical look. Tom looked at him with a strange sense of excitement and just shrugged as two vans drove up the hill and parked on the empty spaces a hill down.

"Tom couldn't you have camped somewhere not on a hill," Tony moaned as he came up to the tape.
"Shut up Tony," Tom snapped as Tim and Ziva joined Tony at the crime scene.
"Ducky," Tom ran up to the medical examiner. "Do the basic stuff to her like find a course of death, not that you need to, but don't start the autopsy until I say so. Promise me."
       "I'll try," he replied.
"What was with the fireworks," Gibbs asked, pulling him aside.
"Something that may link everything together," Tom replied. "It could just be my mind over thinking things but I think their might be more going on in your quest for Parsa, my search for Felix and his crew, Leanne and the terrorist cell."
"What makes you say that?" Gibbs asked.
"Rule 36," Tom replied. "There is something hidden that I can't see but need to...Something big."
"Okay, but until then I'm going to have to arrest you until we can attempt to figure this out," Gibbs replied. "Vance also told me to tell you that we're not allowed any of your evidence."
"That's obvious," Tom replied. "Just figure something out. I am not losing my undercover position just because some judge believes that it was intentional."
"We'll try our best then," Gibbs replied.
