Covenant Invasion of Earth: Erin

Erin was looking for clothes with her best friend in the Paignton branch of New Look - with a budget of one hundred pounds! She was in the changing room when she heard the cashiers scream; in response she quickly pulled on the closest shirt she could find and caused the door to fly open, ignoring the label stuck out the back of the polo shirt.

She turned to see her friend looking towards the front of the store. "Abby. Abby, what are you doing?" she called.
"I think someone just killed me," she moaned turning around to reveal a plasma wound the size of a golf ball in between her breasts.
Erin ran forwards and caught her friend before she slammed against the floor. "Come on, come on, you can not die," she begged. "You are like the only person to actually like me."

But Abby couldn't get out another word before she began coughing up blood, before falling still in Erin's arms. Erin sat for half a minute crying her eyes out over her dead friend before a deep voice brought her back to reality.

"Compassion is weakness," the reptilian creature whispered before announcing to the store while turning away from Erin, "Now bow to me!"
"I will never bow to you," Erin snapped, rising behind the alien with her pocket knife in her hand. "I will never bow to you are any your pathetic species."
"You'll regret that girl," he snarled over his shoulder.
"Bring it asshole," she spat. The alien spun to try and hit her in the arm but she ducked and brought the knife back around and across the alien's exposed neck causing blood to spray out onto her face.

"You killed it," the cashier congratulated while Erin just stared at the knife that she had just used imagining how much fun it would be to utilise it in the same way again. Towards the front of the store Erin heard screams and gunfire.

She grabbed a couple of the alien's grenades and its weapon and made her way towards the front of the store. As she neared her head began screaming at her to turn and run, but deep down she knew she needed to prove to herself to herself or else she would go into a depression.

She moved around the corner and successfully managed to sever the pipes that linked the smallest aliens methane packs to their face masks. Before the bigger aliens noticed her she was able to suffocate another two small aliens by depriving them of methane.

But that was when the big ape-like alien noticed her...

She slit the throat of another small alien, only to find that the ape was hovering over her like a disapproving father. "Have mercy," she winced as it grabbed her by the arm and lifted her into the air.
"Why? You didn't show it to my soldiers," the alien snapped.
"They didn't ask for it," she shrugged the best she could without the full use of her right arm.

The alien opened its mouth wide before bring it down towards her neck, but was stopped by the sound of a shotgun blast firing into the air. "Now now, no eating of necks please," the boy with the shotgun warned.
"Who are you?" The ape asked.
"I'm the kid who managed to quite easily defeat the assault team sent to my street almost single-handedly," Cameron retorted.
"Yeah right," the ape laughed. "My brothers would never lose to the likes of you!"
"Depends, you're easily distracted," Cameron shrugged, suddenly a red haired girl flew in the window besides the ape and sent him flying into the cabinet.

While the alien was down Cameron took the opportunity to throw the shotgun to Emily and run over to help Erin. "Cameron you came to help me," she responded like a love sick puppy.
"You broke up with me remember," Cameron soothed. "No one would have come for you though had we already been killed, seriously watch what fights you get yourself into."

Erin didn't respond with words instead she just grabbed his face and kissed him, which was interrupted by Emily blasting the ape with the shotgun. "Ops," Emily giggled, badly masking her jealousy.
"Come on, really..." Cameron started. "You know that Jack likes you, and you clearly like him so just ask him out already."
          "No I don't," Emily denied.
"Anyway, we should hurry up," Cameron stated, picking Erin up in his arms. "Their patterns suggest that Connor may be in danger next..."
