Power Core: Escape

Universe 40

After fulfilling her part of the deal with the Cydonians, they decided that it would be far better to lock her up in their prison in order to keep her away from Tom. She half expected to never see a living creature again so when the green muscular monsters came to drag her from her cell, well she was extremely shocked.

Naomi was a beautiful young girl with unusually pure white hair, however on this particular day the girl looked like she'd been run over by a team of rugby players before having a child flick red paint at her. The Cydonians had done a number on her through torture of both the physical and psychological kinds leaving her damaged in ways she thought didn't even exist.

She was dragged in front of Gyname, the Cydonian leader. She looked up after hitting the floor to find the orange cloaked alien looked extremely pissed off about something or another.
"You said they would be powerless if we took the Power Core!" the alien yelled his finger pointing at the burning remains of the UFO in Coombeshead.
"I said they would have no powers," Naomi croaked, unable to speak.
"Then how can they destroy the ship?" the alien snapped glaring at her.
"Because our powers don't make us strong," she countered quietly. "Our powers give us an edge, but give us weapons and we're just as deadly."
"Then you're going back down to take every weapon then," the boss alien ordered calmly.
"Slight problem..." Naomi managed. "We can use anything as weapons if we want to. The only way you'll stop them is to kill them or imprison them; both of which are highly unlikely."
"So without the Power Core they are powerless but not defenseless?" one of the guards asked confused.
"Yes dummy," she laughed weakly. "Our powers aren't the only thing we can rely on...and though we are immune to our own powers –" she began to cough causing her entire head to throb. "Unless we don't want to be, if we're in close quarters with a teammate near by and we use something explosive...well that will probably end bad for the other person."
"You talk a lot for a person who can barely talk," Gyname laughed.
"Just remember, he is coming for you," Naomi warned. "And he will kill you."
"Take her away," the Cydonain leader ordered, bored of the interrogation.

The green soldiers led her from the room and back towards the prison. They turned and entered into a corridor and passed a lowly, grey Sectiod who was transferring kitchen utensils from storage and to the kitchen.

Shock. The green soldiers was shocked when Naomi suddenly jolted for the trolley, falling into it and knocking it to the floor. "Don't be dumb girl," the alien snarled.
"I'm not the dumb one," Naomi smirked and threw a knife at the alien's eye, piecing it and causing it to bellow in pain. She grabbed a second knife and used it to cut the Sectoid's throat before moving on to deal with the soldier that remained standing.

Using a secondary knife she finished off the eyeless-soldier and moved on to the other one and put the knife to its throat.
             "Where is it?" she snarled.
"How can you possibly move like that after what we did to you?" the alien replied ignoring her question.
"We're tough," Naomi explained. "We've learnt to deal with the pain. Now. Where. Is. It!"
"Hidden where you can't find it," the alien smirked as Naomi pressed the knife to his throat.
"Then I'll torture you like you did me," Naomi warned. "And I won't stop even when you give me the location. I won't stop until you are begging me to die."
"I'm not afraid of dying," it snarled.
"Then you'll die," Naomi warned, pressing the knife against its throat harder and harder.

As she began to make the incision in the creature's neck his face turned from pride and bravery to shock and horror. "Okay!" he screamed as the knife began to move slightly around his neck. "Four floors down, extreme north side. You can't miss it...Now please don't kill me."
"Well I can't take you with me and I can't risk leaving you alone cause you'll rat me in," Naomi sighed. "So thanks for the information," she stated with a friendly smile before pulling the knife across the creature's neck causing blood to begin streaming from the cut.

Naomi then took off, staying in the shadows and avoiding all contact with the extraterrestrials. When she eventually found the door she found it hard to believe that the guard had actually told her the truth; she found it even harder to believe that the Cydonains hadn't planned for anyone to breakout or in as they lacked any security on their Spoils of War Room.

Creeping. She crept closer to the door the alarm bells sounded and she assumed that the bodies of the aliens she'd murdered must have been located. Ignoring every inch of her body that was screaming for her not to move from the shadows, Naomi jumped into the middle of the corridor and bolted for the door.

Breaking shoulders. She shoulder barged into the door causing her right shoulder to dislocate causing her immense pain. Biting through it she ran for Power Core which was sat in the middle of the room and began flicking switches to turn the machine back on before the soldiers arrived.

Through the door she could see the masses of soldiers approaching. "Come on, come on, COME ON!" she screamed as she flicked one last switch before staring out the door until the machine turned itself back on.

Suddenly as the first guard shot at her the machine began to whir into action. Not thinking she put her hands out in front of her and shot off a series of pressurized air pockets that knocked the soldiers backwards causing a pile up at the door as the aliens failed to stop in time.

Utilising the temporary confusion she took the time to remove the air from the room and corridor (bar a small pocket of air around her head) creating a vacuum that caused the aliens to suffocate and boil at the same time.
