Five Deaths to Trigger – Transfuse

Having decided that she needed a way to better protect herself, Faye masqueraded as one of the doctors in order to get into Ollie’s room with a blood transfuser. Upon sitting down next to him, inserted the needles into his wrist and began to fill two blood bags, once done, she quickly set the machine up to begin pumping the blood back into her own body.

As her eyes and hair began to turn an unnatural red, she felt a great power welling up inside of her. That was until an outside force attempted to take control of her mind, causing her to let out a high-pitched scream and pull the wire from her wrist, causing the flow of blood to stop.

When the force began to speak within her head, she scurried backwards into the corner as she lost the feeling in her left arm. As the doctors rushed in to investigate the scream, she exclaimed: ‘Get out of my head!’ startling the doctors as they realised what the tranfuser had been used to do.
‘What did you do?’ one of the nurses asked as she wrapped a blanket around a shivering Faye.
‘I…I…I took his blood,’ she admitted. ‘And now there is a voice in my head, a voice that wants my body…’
‘Okay,’ the nurse soothed. ‘Come with me, we’ll get you sorted.

Faye struggled to stand, but with the help of the nurse was able to make it into an empty room across the hall from Ollie’s.

While the coroner loaded the girl’s dead body onto the ambulance, Tom was attempting to contact Felix in order to give him a fresh lead to chase in order to catch Jamie, unfortunately he wasn’t answering leaving Tom with no other choice but to try and follow the trail himself while also combatting his body’s natural instinct to run.

Almost immediately after the coroner’s ambulance had turned the corner, Tom began to work on locating where Jamie headed after dumping the body. However, the search was cut short when a shortish red haired girl came stumbling around the corner.
‘Emily?’ he called out as she walked under a street light to reveal the pale ghoulish look on her face. ‘Oh my god,’ he called before rushing over to catch her before she fell to the floor. As he dialled 999, he kept repeating, ‘Stay with me Em. Stay with me.’
‘Hello, how can I help you?’ the lady asked over the phone.
‘I need an ambulance, I’m by the river opposite Adsa in Newton Abbot,’ Tom explained quickly as he tried to keep Emily awake.
‘Has this anything to do with the dead body that was found?’ the lady wondered.
‘Same place, same attacker,’ Tom acknowledged. ‘She’s breathing, but she needs a blood transfusion soon or she’s not going to make it.
‘Okay,’ the operator responded. ‘I’ll get an ambulance dispatched to your location straight away.’
‘Thank you,’ Tom replied before hanging up the phone and putting it to the ground in order to concentrate on keeping Emily alive long enough for the ambulance to arrive.

By the ambulance finally arrived, Emily had taken a turn for the worse and Tom was using his ability to control life to keep her alive. ‘Leila, thank god you’re here,’ Tom sighed and pulled his small pen out of his pocket and used it to awaken her dormant memories. ‘Help me,’ he stated after she stopped holding her head.
‘Just keep me awake,’ she snapped as she grabbed the machine and plugged it into Tom’s arm, causing before turning it on and removing some of his blood. Once she had three pints of it, she turned to Emily and inserted it into her vain, before turning the machine on, causing it to begin pumping the blood into her system.

Once Emily was somewhat stabilised Leila loaded her into the ambulance before turning to Tom and saying, ‘Twice in a week. I think something is working against you here. Figure it out before we have to induce anyone else.’
‘I’m trying to figure it out, but nothing makes sense,’ Tom complained as she strapped Emily’s gurney to the ground.
‘Sleep on it,’ she suggested. ‘You used to get all sorts of answers by sleeping on things, so why don’t you do it now?’
‘Because I hadn’t thought of it,’ Tom admitted with a laugh while closing one of the doors. ‘Look after her and lay low. No one should be able to track you if you don’t use your powers.’
‘Be safe, and don’t do anything foolish,’ she smiled, grabbing the other door from him and pulling it shut.

Tom watched silently as the ambulance drove off before using his superspeed to rush home to see if he could track Jamie by using the energy that he emitted.
