Camp Terror – Overkill

Having spent the time that Tom was organising the civilians surveying the house, Erin and Connie had take two of the terrorists out and used Connie’s ability to absorb memories to extract Connor’s location, despite the damage it caused to the brains of the individuals.

Once they had pinned his location down, the two of them rushed into the house before Tom had even noticed that they were gone. Searching around the outside of the house for a suitable entrance, Tom discovered the brain-fried bodies next to the swimming pool and came to the realisation that Connie must have been responsible for the attacks, especially after one of the pair awoke and could only manage baby gargles.

Worrying for what she could do within the house, Tom was about to rush in with Cameron and Jack when two army Jeeps worth of heavily armed personal.
            ‘They’re not NCIS,’ Tom noted
‘What about Erin and Connie?’ Cameron contested.
‘Lot of good we’ll do them in there if these guys rush in behind us,’ Jack elaborated.
‘Jack’s right, Connie and Erin can handle their own,’ Tom agreed. ‘We handle this lot, they’ll get Connor out.’

Cameron nodded in acceptance before pointing his hands out at the second jeep and opened a black hole underneath it, Tom realised too later to stop him before something built into the jeep repelled the oblivion sphere, vaporising it and sending a feedback loop of energy back into Cameron, causing him to collapse to the floor as his brain felt the pain of a thousand punches.
‘Um…’ Jack started looking at Cameron’s unconscious body.
‘Not a problem right now,’ Tom snapped. ‘If our powers won’t work then we use everything else we’ve got. We were trained specifically for the event that our powers became useless. Let’s use that.’
‘Understood,’ Jack smirked as he pulled his sword from his left hilt and his gun from the right. Tom pulled out two blades, nodded to Jack and then took off running towards the approaching Jeeps, using his superspeed to avoid any bullets that were aimed in his direction. As he closed in within his maximum suspected effectiveness of the device that rebounded Cameron’s powers onto him, he stopped running at superhuman speeds and began running normally, although this was still much faster than a human.

The terrorists remained ever furious in their attacks, however they weren’t able to adjust to Tom’s frantic gymnastics display quicker enough to hit him. Jack meanwhile disappeared into the bushes, knowing that Tom would intentionally let one jeep through his one man blockade for Jack to deal with.

Tom dived past the first jeep and managed to land on the windshield of the second, which he promptly punched in, grabbed the driver, and threw him underneath his own vehicle as it continued to move forward. He then moved onto the passenger, smashing his head into the console multiple times until he fell unconscious.

Unfortunately for everyone in the Jeep, Tom realised too late that they were on a collision course with a tree. Turning and seeing the tree, Tom’s brain went further into overdrive than he had time for, causing him to only be halfway through a solution when the jeep hit the tree, which in tern catapulted his unseatbelted self face first into the tree. The pair in the back, whom had been hanging out the side doors when Tom ran up to the jeep, was also sent flying forwards, although they met a fate much worse than Tom as they accidently impaled themselves upon fallen branches, which each pierced their lungs.

Tom slumped to the floor, unconscious, while Jack jumped out onto the second jeep, smashing the dashboard with the men in the driver and passenger seats while using his feet to kick the weapons of the pair in the back until they eventually flew out the doors. The men followed suit as they scrambled after their weapons. Jack dove to the right, catching the man offguard, allowing Jack to snap his neck before his gun could be retrieved.

Unfortunately, the second soldier was much more organised and calm in his exit of the vehicle, grabbing the gun and moving around to Jack and attempting to bring the butt of his gun down upon Jack’s temple. Realising this, Jack quickly dropped down to the floor, swung his foot around into the man’s legs causing him to suddenly drop to the floor. Quickly, the pair scrambled to their feet, however Jack was slightly faster and was able to keep the soldier in a defensive role and disallowing him from aiming or using his rifle.

Unable to get close enough to perform the kill, nor able to rest control of the rifle, Jack opted for the slower method: Pushing the man away from the truck until they were far enough away that Jack could blind him. It took a couple of minutes of back and forth as they both attempted to keep control the situation, but eventually Jack got him far enough away that he was able to blind the man without his powers backfiring.

Once the man was stumbling backwards, Jack knocked the gun into the air and tripped the man up causing him to collapse to the floor. Before the man had hit the floor however, Jack had grabbed the rifle and aimed it at the dude’s head, who in turn had also activated explosives within both Jeeps that caused them to explode.

The explosions caught Jack offguard and allowed the soldier to wipe out his legs and reacquire his gun, which he promptly aimed at Jack’s head. Unfortunately for him, a small excessively sharp spike flew across from the house and lodged itself within his skull, causing him to drop to the ground, dropping his rifle in the process.

Jack’s head spun around to see Connie helping Connor down against a wall before rushing to help Cameron, who was slowly beginning to wake up. Jack struggled to his feet and began to search for Tom and the first jeep. His eyes finally settled upon the flaming wreck of the jeep as well as the tree that it was now wrapped around.

He pointed towards the tree for Erin to see before he began running towards it, only to find that there were only three bodies around the jeep.
‘Where is he?’ Erin asked as they searched the area.
‘He definitely went after this jeep,’ Jack confirmed, his certainty holding up about as much as his attention during an explosion.

‘So where is he then?’ Erin questioned as Connie screamed for them to come and help after Cameron and Connor both fell into unconsciousness.
