Covenant Invasion of Earth Series 1: Blueprints
Tom’s mum and brother were sat baffled as the two
Tom’s set to work on figuring out a bunch of blueprints with his head teacher
and a set of identical blonde twins who weren’t twins but rather exactly the
same person from different realities.
Confused?
“You know that if we repair these and get our
powers back, we won’t sleep again,” Emma of Universe 17 warned.
“It
isn’t too bad,” the other Emma explained. “Sleeping every night appears to
dilute the visions.”
“Yeah.
That and not actually liking anyone that you can watch be killed,” her dad injected.
“Yeah,
that helps,” she agreed. “Now. What is so special about this town in this
Universe then?”
“Nothing,”
Covenant Tom responded. “Everything just kinda converges here for no apparent
reason. Why?”
“No
reason…” Tom chimed in. “Just accessing the damage to as many different Earths
as possible.”
“Why?”
Darren pushed.
“Allies,”
Emma shrugged quickly as they found the central flaw with the Power Core. “Well
that makes sense…”
“What
does?” Darren asked staring at the blueprint and seeing nothing wrong with it.
“A
very specific person’s DNA…” Emma elaborated. “Without their DNA we can’t rebuild
the Power Core. Why?” she asked her father specifically.
“To
be honest I’m still reading that and trying to make sense of what I read,” Tom
noted. “Why would we need his DNA, ever…”
“Who’s
DNA?” Covenant Tom asked growing impatient quickly.
“Where’s
your Felix?” the other Tom asked.
“Don’t
know. Last time I saw him he was in the basement. I haven’t seen him since then…”
“Our
Felix is dead,” Emma noted sadly.
“Wouldn’t
matter, it has to be the one from this Universe,” Universe 01’s Tom mentioned.
“How
‘d they make them in the first place? You know, if he is dead,” Emma asked completely
blanking out the Universe 17 Protectors.
“Turning
point or something happens to bring him back to life,” Tom shrugged. “I have no
idea. It is pretty hard to come back to life after going up in a fire tornado.”
“What
do you guys run?” Darren cut in. “Your world sounds like hell.”
“You
have one thing to worry about. I have to worry about Vintos, Cydonians,
Zoombians, serial killers and my parents, um…the UN hates me, Leanne wants me
dead as well. Our world is basically hell,” Tom laughed. “I also have to put up
with Naomi’s crazy mission to Universe 23, 2861 constantly asking for help or information.
Leanne managed to piss of 20. 18 likes having help with Felix and Penny’s
personalities. Don’t ever come to visit. Odds are you will be murdered on the
spot.”
“Don’t
visit Universe 01, got it,” Darren wrote down on a piece of paper. “That will
be added to the Portal’s warning system.
“Do
you have everything? Material wise?” Emma asked quickly.
“No…”
Darren responded.
“I’ll
take Emily and find the remaining materials then. You lot work on ensuring the
programming is complete for when we get back,” Emma decided.
“What
about me?” Emma of 17 asked. The other Emma looked towards Tom 17.
“You
go and find your mother, see if you can drag her out of her self-proclaimed
retirement,” Tom of 17 ordered.
The two Emma’s quickly left to begin their relevant
jobs. Darren meanwhile looked at his brother and his brother’s doppelganger. “Calling
you both Tom is going to get confusing,” he noted. “Anyway we can differentiate
you?”
“Middle
name?” Tom of 17 suggested.
“Don’t
have one…” other Tom stated glumly.
“Then
it looks like you are calling me Max until these guys go home,” Tom decided.
“Nice
to meet you Max,” the other Tom agreed. “Lets hope I don’t have to stick around
for too long. I just hope Fred can control the team…”
