NCIS: Basement

Tom unexpectedly awoke four weeks following the explosion at the London Marathon and snuck out of the hospital where he was being treated before anyone knew that he had woken from his slumber. While he slept, visions of various different futures plagued him.

But the visions were probably the most important reminder of who he was and what he could do when he set his mind to it. And because of that he set to work utilising what he knew about his father’s behaviour to begin and piece together not only his plan but also his base of operations and a rather complex list of allies than ranged from mercenaries to wealthy businessmen in the United States to homeless members of the public who relayed information to him with the promise of food and shelter in return.

Slowly in his mind he pieced together the complex web of connections, locations and people, and after about three hours of mind mapping in his basement, he eventually spread the connections from the Marathon bombings, the Serial Killer Trio, the Coombeshead Terrorists and Geoff to a far reaching array of different characters than spread from the UK to the US to Australia to Syria to North Korea to Chile and everywhere in-between.

And within that he found that most common meeting place between one of the terrorists he was hunting and his dad.

Deep within the labyrinth of Catacombs beneath Newton Abbot, deep where they believed themselves to be safe…

Without alerting any of his friends to his awakening, he set an alarm to alert his family to his location if he did not return within two hours and headed into the Catacombs before heading towards the one place that he had always been scared of entering, the same place where he acquired the blueprints and technology for his Portal, an extremely large Portal that was powered by the heat of the mantle; and after years of studying it he had no idea who placed it there nor where it led.

What he did know was that his father was currently meeting with one of the English terrorists on one of the ledges that overlooked the metal monstrosity.

“So these explosives will give us a bomb large enough to destroy Exeter airport?” the terrorist asked shortly after Tom activated the cameras inside the room from outside the door.
“Yes, the explosives will demolish the airport and any landed planes as well as send out a short EMP to knock any planes in the air out of the sky,” Geoff assured. “Now, know this, you can not fail. NCIS are closing in on you all one by one. Detonate the bomb before they catch you.”
“Got it. How many of us do they have?” the terrorist asked.
“Mr. Harris?” Tom asked, trying to act shocked. He failed. “Why are you talking about bombing Exeter Airport?”
“Tom? What are you doing down here?” Mr. Harris asked while Geoff stared at his son, uneasy by his lack of escape route.
“Oh who am I kidding,” Tom laughed. “Jump if you really want to Dad. It is your only chance at escape. And to answer your question: You are number Eight of Fifteen.”
“What the hell is that supposed to me?” Harris asked as Geoff looked below to see yet another balcony.

Before Harris could react, Geoff was over the side and on the other balcony. “Who are you,” he snarled at Tom. “And why is your Dad so scared of you?”
“Because I’m more powerful than him and locked him up in a tiny box for ten years,” Tom shrugged. “But you are the one who should be scared of me.”
            “Why?” he sneered.
“Because my official job description is NCIS Special Agent and I have the ability to arrest you or just flat out kill you.”
            “English soil,” Harris smirked.
“Actually the Catacombs are Protector Soil, so my soil. So I can kill you and suffer no consequences,” Tom smiled sweetly before rushing across the room towards the English teacher. “I think it is time you guys came up with a new plan. Because we are plucking you off like flies.”
“So you are gonna arrest me. So what? I’m not going to talk.”

“When we are done with you…you will,” Tom promised before handcuffing the man. He then opened a Portal to his vault and pushed the explosives into it before leading the terrorist into a Portal that led to the NCIS interrogation room.
