Power Core Series 3: Database

While Emma worked on closing the rift, Jack, Maddi and Connie left there perimeter and headed towards the Vinto ship that was initiating the attacks on the warehouse in order to try and locate both Emily and Darren. And so far the attack was going very well.

But what they didn’t know, could hurt them…

Jack had formed a barrier of light between the Vintos and his team as they followed the signs that led to the bridge. But the barrier of light could only withstand an extremely small amount of damage before it slipped back into the non-physical realm. So each barrier coming down slowly drained Jack further and further until he was unable to put up another one.
“How much further Conine?” Maddi asked as Jack collapsed into her arms. “Jack isn’t going to last much longer!”
“Another couple of turns,” Connie promised as one Vinto guard ran around the corner behind Maddi.

Without thinking Connie jumped over her sister and threw a fireball at the reptile, but he dove to the left to avoid it successfully. Suddenly her ability to control and manipulate memories took over and instead of another fireball coming out of it, a much more deadly radiation came out of it, and it struck its target with full force causing the creature to bellow out in pain as his entire brain boiled and fried.

By the time she was finished his face was covered in blood which had exited from his nose, ears and eyes. Maddi and Jack stared at the body horrified by what had just happened. “What?” Maddi asked. “What was that?”
“I have no idea,” Connie revealed. “I have never done that before in my life.”
“We’ll debate it later, but right now we need to get out of here before more guards show up,” Jack suggested, prompting the girls to get Jack over both their shoulders before slowly pushing on through the Vinto ship.

Eventually they made it to the dull white room filled with computers, the two girls helped Jack to one of the seats in front of a computer.
“How fast?” Maddi asked, sensing the Vintos that were closing in.
“A minute max,” Jack promised before turning his attention to the machine where he began to type at impressive speeds.
“Do you think you can do the mind fry thing again?” Maddi asked her younger sister.
            “I can try,” Connie shrugged.
“Then be ready to try,” Maddi ordered. “It won’t take them long to realise where we are/”

As if on cue, the door burst open and ten Vinto guards ran in, all of them packing automatic disintegration weapons. Connie pointed her palm at one of the creatures who lacked their human skin and began to slowly fry its brain until he slumped to the floor in a pile of bone and flesh.

Maddi meanwhile formed a trident of death energy and launched it across the room, piecing there of the Vintos at once while also using their bodies to pin up the strangely small entrance. However, all three deceased Vinto bodies were promptly disintegrated by reinforcements, while Connie forced two Vintos to spontaneously combust and Maddi blasted another of the original lot with a beam of death.
“Jack?” Maddi asked as even more Vintos entered into the room. “Hurry up…” she ordered while firing a beam of death across the room and into three of the Vintos who had lined up in an extremely helpful line.

“Almost got their location,” Jack promised as a bullet came flying past the side of his head at a distance which he could feel. A couple clicks later and he found what he was looking for. He quickly found the files of their abduction, interrogation and imprisonment and download them onto his memory stick before turning around and blinding the Vintos while he grabbed the girls and pulled them through an extremely hastily create Portal that ended up dropping them into the middle of Adsa. In the air. Above a stack of shelves. And falling…
