Three Years Too Early...: Out of Place

Bradley Barton Primary School was your average small town primary school, hidden near the woods on the outskirts of town with a slowly sinking reputation following the departure of the previous headmaster. During the day it was a half-decent looking school, with kids hard at work in one aspect or another. At night however the creepy level shoots up, with various displays in windows taking on seemingly sinister shapes, the climbing frame looked old and abandoned, and the old huts used as classrooms for the nursery looked like it could house a serial killer’s weapon arsenal.

And waking up in the middle of a pitch black playground with no recognition of the place or how you got there? It was then that it became the creepiest place on the planet…

Naomi awoke on the upper, cold, hard, tarmac playground, unaware of her surroundings; unaware of how she came to be laid on said playground.

She slowly clambered to her feet, her legs shaking as the midnight breeze brushed against them, without really thinking she tried to alter the air floor around her so that it missed. However the wind simply began blowing harder and harder until she was forced to focus all of her attention and energy on controlling it.

As she forced the wind to die down, she slowly quelled her breathing and began walking towards the only building in sight, and basically as far away from the extremely dark woods and old, rotting sheds.

The state of the school startled her greatly, the entire thing, as ominous as it appeared, also looked like it had managed to survived a centuries long war completely untouched, which wasn’t possible considering the amount of terraforming the Earth had forgone underneath the Zoombians.

She moved slowly past the outside dinning area for the higher years and came up to a window that looked into one of the classrooms. Although just a glimpse of something she could barely read, on top of a table was a book which had her boyfriend’s name on it. How did she know that it was her Tom? Because the entire cover was doodled with eerily glowing infinity symbols. “That’s subtle,” she mumbled under her breath as she heard one of the sheds behind her suddenly explode.

Fearing for what it could be: who it could be. She rushed around the side of the building and quickly found herself at the gate into the school. She climbed as fast as she could. And then she ran towards the light. Only she didn’t stop running and eventually found herself racing past her old base, Coombeshead, to find it weirdly intact from the last time she’d seen it. Soon afterwards she found herself passing by a Tesco Supermarket, and as she looked at it she found flashes of images of a violent confrontation with Vintos form in her mind. At least half the shop should be in ruins, she thought to herself. I personally destroyed it…

Without really thinking, she ventured further into the small segment of town. The only problem was that she had nowhere to sleep for the night…She quickly fixed that with a quick trip into the supermarket, where she successfully managed to find a suitable place to hide for the night.
